The Adapt Edge LTD HPF boots are a solid choice for wide footed skiers looking for a high performance boot so they can get out and rip all day without foot cramps. Head has always been ahead of the curve making wide boots but this boot takes it one step further with an adjustable last! These boots also have a Heat Moldable liner and a Stiffer/Softer flex adjust so the skier can customize pretty much every feature on this boot. Who doesn't like an all black boot these days.

Adaptive Fit Last 102mm-104mm: Head's newest boot technology is called Adaptive Fit. The Adaptive Fit boots essentially have two lasts, one at 102mm and one at 104mm, and all it requires is the turn of a screw.

100/110 Adjustable Flex Rating: At this flex, the skier should have good form, be skiing fast and aggressively. These boots feature an adjustable flex so you can set the boots to the softer or harder setting based on the day or based on your preferences.

Tri-Injected Energy Frame Shell: Most ski boots are Bi-Injected into the mold to create two different densities of plastic. Head went ahead and did one better, tri-injection molding. This means there are three levels of plastic density instead of two, meaning the transition from the stiff/dense sole of the boot to the lighter upper-cuff of the boot is more fluid. This in turn makes your skiing smoother and the boot has a more predictable flex throughout all parts of the boot.

HeatFit/High Performance HeatFit Liner: Self molding inserts in the liner and tongue quickly adapt to the shape of your feet, just by wearing and skiing them.

Soft Walk HeelSoft Walk Heel: A rubber insert in the heel cushions while walking to get better grip and a more comfortable stride.

Macro adjust ladder (SuperMacro): The tooth plate opposite the top buckles can be moved in or out for a huge range of adjustment, and to fit narrow to wide lower legs.

40mm strap: Super wide strap found on high performance boots. The extra width spreads out the force while skiing and reduces the pressure point on the upper shin.

Double Canting: Two adjustment bolts, one each side of the ankle, allow for maximum adjustment for leg/knee alignment problems. The alignment of the boot cuff helps the skis stay flat on the ground while you are still bow-legged or knock-kneed.

Replaceable Toe and Heel Pads: This is a must-have for skiers that don't live in ski in/ski out condos. When your ski tech tells you that you have to buy new boots because the soles are worn down too much, just laugh at him and tell him to order you a new set of sole plates.

heatfit linerDouble Power Buckles: Some of the buckles on this boot (usually the top 2) have a metal flip-out that can be extended to give the skier more leverage when clamping it down.

Spine-Tech Buckles: The Spine-Tech buckle features a closure point that stays in place (it looks like a spinal cord). It increases overlap in the shell flaps which brings the boot closer to your leg and reduces pressure points that are usually caused with traditional buckles.

  • What size of ski boots should I buy?

Boots that fit well are a key part of good ski setup. Selecting a proper size is essential for both comfort and performance. Listed below are some helpful tips and a conversion chart to get you started with selecting your size.

How do I measure my foot?

The easiest method of measuring is to lay a piece of paper or cardboard down on the ground in a flat, level, area. While standing, place your foot on top of the paper and trace the outside of your foot. You can then measure the tracing from the back of the heel to the longest part of the toe. We recommend measuring in centimeters for the most accurate measurement however, if you need to measure in inches you can convert to centimeters by multiplying your measurement by 2.54.

How do I choose the right size?

If your centimeter measurement falls between two sizes round up to the closest mondopoint size. For example a 26.73cm would round up to a 27.0 mondopoint or a 26.32 would round up to a 26.5 mondopoint. We do NOT recommend using the conversion chart based on street shoe size. Due to the inconsistent sizing of shoe manufacturers this is not an accurate method of sizing and should only be used if absolutely necessary.

Recreational Fit: For skiers that are more conservative on the slopes or don't ski many days per year and are looking for a spacious fit to maximize comfort. It is generally best to choose a size slightly above your mondopoint measurement. We do not recommend choosing a size that is more than one size above your mondopoint measurement.
Performance Fit: For skiers that ski fast and aggressive on a variety of steep, technical, terrain. If you are looking for the most power transfer and want the best performance with a tight, precise fit. It is generally best to select right at your mondopoint measurement or slightly below.

Unfortunately ski boots will never be as comfortable or fit the same as a street shoe no matter how well they fit simply due to the materials they are made of and how they are manufactured. Remember that the conversion chart is approximate and this information is only meant to be a starting point. With slight variances from one boot model to another and every persons foot being unique we cannot guarantee that choosing a size solely based on this guide will result in a perfectly fit boot.
