The K2 A.M.P. Rictor Skis blend All-Terrain Rocker with an ideal amount of waist width to create a platform built for all conditions. This broad range of versatility and high performance comes from a unique combination of metal laminate construction and a progressive sidecut that allows the K2 A.M.P. Rictor Skis to perform equally well on both soft and hard conditions.
Product Details
Shape
The K2 Rictor Skis have a progressive sidecut, which is a combination of two different radii or sidecuts that enhance the versatility of wider waisted skis. Standard sidecut theory is based on using a single radius. This works great on narrower skis, but becomes overpowering on wider skis, especially in variable conditions. The use of a progressive sidecut on wider waist skis guarantees improved turn initiation and hard snow performance
All Terrain Rocker – Features an elevated tip for variable and soft-snow performance and camber underfoot for power, energy and edge-hold in firmer conditions.
Construction
Built with two sheets of lightweight Titanal running the length of the ski, metal laminate skis are the highest performing and most complex construction available from K2. Built from the base up, a metal laminate construction consists of alternating layers of fiberglass and Titanal above and below the wood core. Metal laminates provide damp, accurate, unshakable performance ideal for expert level skiers. Hybritech is a unique blend of sidewall and cap construction. The construction combines the accuracy and power performance of sidewall underfoot with the lightweight characteristics and smooth turn initiation of cap construction.
Working in conjunction with the integrated hubs the Marker MX provides unmatched prevision and control on the highest end A.M.P. models. The system uses Marker’s Inter-Pivot Heel technology and new light weight Triple Pivot Comfort MX toe for an even wider footprint than the previous MX. This new toe comes with a cross mounted spring, stainless steel AFD and backward release function.
Core and Flex Pattern
Mod Technology functions by absorbing vibrations and impact loads along the entire ski providing stronger edge-hold and a higher degree of power and control. Mod is a secondary core that flexes and moves on top of the primary core allowing the overall ski flex to be unaffected. Mod Monic is a solid zinc mass that works in conjunction with the Mod structure to focus mass dampening at a targeted location.
There are a lot of factors that can influence your ideal ski length. Getting on the right size ski is an important part of being comfortable and enjoying your time on the slopes. Using the skier's height is a good starting point and taking things into consideration like weight, ability level, terrain, and even their personal style of skiing will help to narrow down your size range. For most people their starting point will land somewhere between their chin and nose. Remember, these are just guidelines, not rules. If you have a preferred size that you are comfortable on you can certainly go with that.
